General Summary:
- Perform daily tasks in data center operations.
- These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Running scheduled and unscheduled jobs
- Backup media management
- Monitoring of systems, and miscellaneous tasks within the department.
- This positon will also monitor data center environment to ensure proper temperature and humidity.
Job Details
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor jobs controlled by an automated scheduling system; monitor multiple systems. 55%
- Schedule batch production jobs using command line entries, workbooks, and the Job Scheduler. 15%
- Process email and phone requests. 20%
- Troubleshoot problems and assist in problem resolution. 5%
- Notify appropriate personnel of exceptions (ex: delay running of scheduled report). 5%
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
- Good organizational skills.
- Knowledge of hardware configurations.
- Knowledge of AS/400, UNIX and Microsoft commands.
- Good oral communication skills.
Qualifications
Work Experience &/or Education:
- High school diploma preferred.
- Multi-platform operations experience preferred, including AS/400, UNIX and Microsoft.
- Experience with ticketing systems (i.e. ServiceNow)
