At Overwatch, it’s more than a job—it’s purpose.The Design Program Manager will provide two main functions:

  • Oversee the Datacenters Design Program.
  • Design Management support & coordination.

Responsibilities:Design Program:

  • Shepherd the Design Program from Due Diligence through to Ops Handover.
  • Be the single point of contact & provide training to Internal Stakeholders.
  • Track Design Program compliance at a Project Level.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement of the Design Program.
  • Design Program onboarding for external AVE Partners.
  • Document control & change management of the Design Program.

Design Management:

  • Coordinate design timelines (reviews, page-turns) across multiple projects.
  • Support project team members to coordinate tasks and resources to meet deadlines and milestones.
  • Tenaciously monitor project progress against timelines, quality, cost, and barriers for completion.
  • Assist in removing roadblocks as necessary by communicating with internal and external resources and partners.
  • Chair cross-functional meetings and internal Stakeholders.
  • Create simple processes, tools, dashboards that encourage efficiency and transparency.
  • Develop KPIs to track performance and identify improvements’ opportunity.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Oversee the design phase across confidential campus projects, ensuring successful execution from conception to completion.
  • Act as an owner’s representative for design, collaborating with consultants, general contractors, and internal teams.
  • Address and resolve design issues during construction while ensuring consultant deliverables align with project timelines.
  • Regularly facilitate status meetings, track action items, and maintain organized project documentation.
  • Ensure alignment between design and construction teams to uphold project quality and meet deadlines.

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with tools such as Bluebeam, SmartSheet, and standard office software (no direct design or drafting required).
  • Experience with large-scale, complex building systems (e.g., data centers, hospitals, airports, or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-disciplinary design and coordination efforts.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Team-oriented mindset and the ability to integrate seamlessly into a cohesive group.

Physical Requirements and Work EnvironmentThis position may operate in a combination of office, remote, and active construction site environments, depending on project assignment and business needs. Employees must be able to perform essential job functions safely and effectively in both professional and field conditions.

  • Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, twist, bend, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods while navigating uneven, unpaved, or obstructed terrain when on-site.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to travel to and between job sites and access all areas of an active construction zone, including raised platforms, scaffolding, and confined spaces.
  • Must be able to tolerate outdoor weather conditions and exposure to dust, noise, vibrations, and construction-related odors.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and other personnel while maintaining situational awareness in high-activity environments.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety vests, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots are required when visiting or working on active construction sites.
  • This role requires visual acuity sufficient to read drawings, specifications, and safety signage, and to observe site activity.
