Data Center – Floor Supervisor

With our commitment to professional growth and employee development, let AFL “Connect” you to your next career opportunity!</strong></p><p></p><p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p><p>We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Data Center Floor Supervisor to oversee daily operations on the data center floor. This role is responsible for supervising technicians and sub-contractors, ensuring adherence to safety and operational protocols, collecting and reporting splicing data, and maintaining high standards of work quality and efficiency.</p><p><strong>Willing to work a rotating shift (not Monday through Friday). Also willing to work night shift.</strong></p><p></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Supervise and coordinate daily floor activities, including fiber optic cable splicing, installations, and maintenance.</li><li>Monitor and ensure compliance with safety, security, and operational procedures.</li><li>Collect, validate, and report splicing data and documentation for quality assurance and project tracking.</li><li>Conduct regular inspections to ensure work is performed according to specifications and standards.</li><li>Serve as the primary point of contact for floor-level issues and escalate as needed.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and personnel assignments.</li><li>Collaborate with network, and project management teams to support ongoing initiatives.</li><li>Train and mentor floor technicians, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.</li><li>3+ years of experience in data center operations, fiber splicing, or network infrastructure.</li><li>Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a technical environment.</li><li>Strong understanding of fiber optic splicing, testing, and documentation.</li><li>Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.</li><li><strong>Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure, physically demanding environment.</strong></li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Preferred Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Familiarity with data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools.</li><li>Experience with safety and compliance standards (e.g., OSHA, ANSI/TIA).</li><li>Proficiency in using tablets or mobile devices for data entry and reporting.</li></ul>
