Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Center Operations Engineer with hands-on liquid cooling experience to support advanced, high-density data center environments. This role supports AI, HPC, and other mission-critical workloads utilizing direct liquid cooling (DLC) and/or immersion cooling technologies.
Liquid cooling experience is a core requirement for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and support liquid-cooled data center environments in production
- Maintain and troubleshoot liquid cooling infrastructure, including Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs), pumps, heat exchangers, manifolds, and leak detection systems
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and thermal performance of critical infrastructure
- Partner with facilities, IT operations, OEMs, and external vendors to resolve issues and optimize performance
- Support the deployment, commissioning, and transition of liquid cooling systems from build to steady-state operations
- Execute and help develop SOPs, preventive maintenance schedules, emergency procedures, and safety protocols
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide on-call or after-hours support as required for mission-critical environments
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience operating liquid cooling systems in data center or similar critical environments
- Background in data center operations, facilities engineering, or infrastructure engineering
- Strong understanding of thermal management, mechanical systems, and fluid dynamics
- Experience working in production, uptime-sensitive environments
- Ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams and external partners
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience supporting AI, GPU-dense, or HPC workloads
- Experience with deployment, commissioning, or retrofitting of liquid cooling systems
- Background in hyperscale, colocation, or mission-critical data centers
- Familiarity with industry standards, safety practices, and regulatory requirements
- Experience developing or improving operational standards and procedures
Compensation
- Competitive base salary, typically $170,000–$210,000+, depending on experience and location
