<p><strong>Description</strong><p>Data Center Technician (ONSITE – Chicago)<p>Technicians support data center sustainability and zero‑waste operations by managing material flows, secure asset handling, and overall operational accuracy.<p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Manage inbound/outbound materials, PO receiving, RMS activities, and asset staging.</li><li>Maintain inventory accuracy with cycle counts, audits, and data corrections.</li><li>Perform shipping/receiving, storage, and material movement operations.</li><li>Securely decommission and destroy data‑bearing devices per compliance standards.</li><li>Follow all SOPs, runbooks, and regulatory procedures.</li><li>Monitor systems for issues; escalate or troubleshoot as needed.</li><li>Use Microsoft Office and internal systems for updates and reporting.</li></ul><p>Additional Duties</p><ul><li>Decommission servers/racks and sort hardware for reuse or recycling.</li><li>Harvest/test reusable components (memory, CPUs, cables, etc.).</li><li>Handle warranty returns (RTV) for failed equipment.</li></ul><p>Qualifications<p>Required:</p><ul><li>High School Diploma + 2+ years in warehouse, supply chain, inventory, or IT material handling.</li><li>Basic Microsoft Office skills.</li><li>Strong communication, judgment, and ability to work independently.</li></ul><p>Preferred:</p><ul><li>Data center experience, associate’s degree in IT/logistics, sustainability or lifecycle management, familiarity with ERP/ticketing systems.</li></ul><strong>Job Type & Location</strong><p>This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.</p><strong>Pay and Benefits</strong><p>The pay range for this position is $20.00 – $20.00/hr.<p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
