We are looking for exceptional Security Guards to join our On-Call Security Team, supporting a prominent telecommunications and technology client across multiple high-security sites in the Greater Toronto Area. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, professional environment and requires full open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be able to commute to all three designated locations: Etobicoke, Markham, and East York.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in corporate security, with a solid foundation in identity and access management, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Position Overview
Locations:
Etobicoke (Dixon Rd. & Attwell Dr.)
East York (Eglinton Ave. E & Laird Dr.)
Markham (14th Ave. & Warden Ave.)
Must be available to work all required shift times across all 3 sites.
Payrate: $18.40/hour
RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to::
- Performing access control provision duties, verifying visitor badges and employee badges.
- Escorting medical staff including paramedics, police and firefighters when required.
- Responding to medical emergencies and be prepared to perform CPR and AED if needed.
- Unlocking and locking doors for access by authorized persons.
- Following security breach procedures by notifying supervisors or other appropriate personnel when security breaches occur.
- Performing foot patrols inside the building on multiple floors.
- Assisting client employees with inquiries
- Writing, reviewing and documenting Shift Activity Report (SAR).
- Following proper chain of command and procedures for all matters which require escalation.
- Performing other duties as directed by the Shift Security Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certification
- Minimum 2 years of security experience, preferably in a corporate or concierge environment
- Eligibility for reliability clearances through the Government of Canada requires 5 years of residency or able to provide a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) from within the last year
- Hands-on experience with access control systems and CCTV surveillance
- Strong understanding of security protocols and emergency response procedures
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team and deliver outstanding customer service
- Flexible availability to work various shifts based on business needs
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, professional setting
- Access to your own vehicle is strongly preferred. Some sites are not bus accessible unless you walk 15-20 minutes from the stop.
- Flexible to travel to different locations for the client sites, sometimes within short notice
