Our client, a leading semiconductor client, is looking for a Senior Hardware Technician for Milpitas, CA.

Job Duration: Long-Term Contract (Possibility Of Further Extension)

Rate: $50/hr on W2

We are seeking an experienced Senior Hardware Technician with a strong hands-on background in rack stacking, hardware troubleshooting, and data center equipment setup. This role is responsible for deploying, maintaining, and optimizing high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure, including compute, networking, and storage systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform rack stack installation — mount servers, storage, and networking gear; manage cabling, labeling, and power distribution.

• Diagnose and resolve hardware issues across compute (CPU/GPU), networking (Ethernet/InfiniBand), and storage systems (RAID, SSD, and parallel file systems).

• Replace and configure failed components such as drives, switches, or processors.

• Conduct performance testing and ensure optimal data center operations.

• Maintain accurate documentation of system setups, hardware changes, and troubleshooting steps.

• Collaborate with engineers to support new deployments and system upgrades.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in data center hardware deployment and troubleshooting.

• Strong knowledge of server architecture, networking protocols, and storage systems.

• Familiarity with Linux OS and basic command-line operations.
