As we expand our capabilities, we’re looking for a highly experienced Datacenter Engineer to join our cloud team and help ensure the reliability and efficiency of our cloud systems.
Role Overview
This is a senior-level, hands-on role responsible for the design, implementation, and support of our virtual infrastructure, storage systems, networking, and Windows-based environments. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, mission-critical setting.
Please note: This role requires regular on-site presence at our datacenter (located in Staten Island, NY) and at our NYC office. Remote-only applicants will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain virtual infrastructure (VMware, Hyper-V) and virtual desktop environments (Citrix, Horizon, etc.)
- Manage SAN storage systems, backup platforms, and disaster recovery processes
- Monitor and support critical systems to ensure uptime, performance, and security
- Administer Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022), including patching and hardening
- Configure and troubleshoot network infrastructure (switches, firewalls, VLANs, routing)
- Collaborate with internal teams to support business continuity and infrastructure scalability
- Maintain detailed documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures
- Lead infrastructure projects from planning through execution
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in datacenter engineering or infrastructure operations
- Proven expertise in virtualization, VDI, SAN, networking, and Windows Server administration
- Strong understanding of backup technologies and disaster recovery planning
- Experience with performance monitoring and capacity planning
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- VMware VCP, Microsoft, Cisco, or equivalent certifications
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments (Azure, AWS)
- Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python) for automation and efficiency
