<p>The Quality Assurance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring all delivered and installed&nbsp;equipment meets the project Quality Plan, industry standards, and manufacturer specifications.&nbsp;This role performs detailed receiving inspections, validates construction quality after mechanical&nbsp;completion, and ensures Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment is ready for&nbsp;commissioning and energization. &nbsp;The ideal candidate has strong experience in utility-scale power systems—such as BESS, solar,&nbsp;thermal/gas turbine, or other power plant environments—and thrives in a fast-paced,&nbsp;travel-heavy field role.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><br><strong>Equipment Receiving &amp; Quality Inspections</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Perform incoming inspections of electrical and mechanical equipment including BESS&nbsp;containers, battery racks/modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear,&nbsp;telecommunications cabinets, and auxiliary systems.</li>
<li>Validate that all delivered equipment matches approved submittals, drawings, and the&nbsp;project’s Quality Plan, meeting ON.energy’s high industry standards.</li>
<li>Document shipping damage, deviations, and non-conformances; initiate NCRs and&nbsp;coordinate with engineering, vendors, and construction teams for resolution.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Mechanical Completion Verification</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Inspect equipment installations after mechanical completion to verify workmanship&nbsp;quality, adherence to codes/standards, and compliance with OEM requirements.</li>
<li>Conduct detailed inspections on wiring terminations, cable routing, torque requirements,&nbsp;labeling, grounding, conduits, and enclosure integrity.</li>
<li>Review and verify that installation meets NEC, IEEE, UL 9540/9540A, relevant utility&nbsp;standards, and project-specific QA/QC criteria.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Documentation &amp; Reporting</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Maintain thorough inspection reports, punch lists, redlines, and photographic documentation.</li>
<li>Track and verify corrective actions, ensuring issues are closed prior to energization or&nbsp;commissioning handoff.</li>
<li>Support QA Manager in maintaining project-level Quality Plans and documentation&nbsp;control.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Cross-Functional Collaboration</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Work with construction teams, commissioning engineers, EPC partners, and OEM&nbsp;representatives to resolve field quality issues.</li>
<li>Communicate findings clearly and professionally across disciplines, escalating issues&nbsp;when required.</li>
<li>Support readiness reviews, quality walkdowns, and pre-energization verification&nbsp;activities.</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>3+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
<ul>
<li>Power plants (thermal, gas turbine, peaker, etc.)</li>
<li>Utility-scale solar</li>
<li>Battery Energy Storage Systems</li>
<li>High-voltage electrical or industrial environments</li>
<li>Data Centers</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Strong ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings, one-lines, installation&nbsp;manuals, and QA/QC documentation.</li>
<li>Experience performing field inspections, equipment verification, or construction quality control.</li>
<li>Willing and able to travel over 80% to project sites nationwide.</li>
<li>Understanding of codes and standards such as NEC, NFPA, IEEE, UL, ISO/IEC, and&nbsp;utility requirements.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Preferred</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Prior experience in QA/QC, commissioning, or field service roles.</li>
<li>Familiarity with BESS architectures, inverters, transformers, MV equipment, andSCADA/telecom cabinets.</li>
<li>Certifications such as NETA, AWS CWI, ISO 9001 auditor, or OSHA 30.</li>
</ul>
